Psychologists say more and more young people feel entitled

Research has discovered that large numbers of young people are developing an entitlement complex.

The psychological trend comes from the belief that you are superior to others and are more deserving of certain things.

This form of narcissism has some significant consequences, such as disappointment and a tendency to lash out.

Psychology Today reports that some examples of entitlement range from disregarding of rules, freeloading, causing inconveniences, and the desire to assume the role of leader when working in groups.

So-called Millennials, who were born roughly between 1988 and 1994, tend to have this characteristic, as a 2016 study found.

I have seen this with a family member who thought he should have been given all the perks that his cousin was given in high school. He did not make the connection that his cousin worked hard in school to make the grades and was rewarded for his grades. Instead, he viewed his own poor performance on his fathers inability to keep him in designer clothing and hand him $. His father was not wealthy but loved him and provided for him. It is sinful the way he treats his father.

I wonder if liberals even see any connection between their policies/ideas (like 'participant' trophies) and this attitude.

And many of these children would throw a walleyed tantrum if they didn't get their way, and they still do, though now it may be a bit more clever in its execution.

This mindset is a DIRECT result of liberal influence on parenting and education.

I wonder if this will be the next mental illness diagnosis.

12:46 Maybe his father should have put something on the boy that he was entitled too. A thrashing to start with.

I have seen the entitlement syndrome, however I think there are a lot being "misdiagnosed". You have a whole lot of kids who were promised their whole lives that if they got good grades and went to college they could do anything. Now they are in student debt up to their eyeballs and delivering pizzas with a degree. They came up in the "greatest country in the world" then hit their teen years and watched their parents grief as Wall St theives stole their retirement savings with the help of the Government. I say the ones who did everything right and are still failing are justified to be angry.

Because that is what they are taught in both the schools and their homes.
