We’ve been warned about bringing devices into our home that have cameras, microphones or WiFi that are connected to the outside world. Why? Because any one of the devices has the capability to collect data about us. And with advertisers and other organizations willing to pay for personal information, it’s tempting for device makers to try to earn extra profits.
The consumer electronics hardware business has become highly competitive with so many similar products that do much the same, so the manufacturers are trying to find ways to increase their revenue through software subscriptions or by collecting data that they can sell to others.

I have a smart TV. Go into settings and disable the WIFI connection. Should also be an option for the camera to disable this. Turning off the Wifi will stop this. Just get a Roku or Amazon stick device for everything else. No real need to us the smart TV functions. They ususally don't have all the functions or apps of roku or streaming stick.
1:13 PM are you completely stupid??? All of those boxes can spy on you to, and since they need a internet connection to be used, it makes no difference at that point... I think you dumb ass people are underestimating the level of tech the govt has and has had for years and what they can do and where they can do it... You won't believe and you can't believe becasue you are to stupid, that the govt can spy on you via your washer and dryer, your refrigerator, and even your lights or light bulbs... They put these devices in things you need, or think they know you won't get rid of or can't go with out having... I mean look, you all didn't even think tv's tracked or spied on you, until you saw it in the news, and what is funny is most of the people on here who already knew this, was telling you and everyone else about it and you just said, oh no it can't happen, they won't do that, I refuse to believe that... Yet wither you believe it or not it is happening so maybe, just maybe you should start to listen and head the warnings we give you... Because so far, I have been right in everything I tell you people abut the govt and what they have done, and will do... It is not a conspiracy if it is reality...
