FAKE GOLD SCAM/FRAUD
During the months of January and February, the Berlin Police Department began receiving calls for fraudulent activity. Callers have reported a well-dressed foreign couple with a child in a vehicle, would contact would be Good Samaritans. The couple would then claim to have no money for needed gas and food. The couple would then offer to exchange their jewelry for currentcy. They would claim this jewelry was 18k. These items have been fake.

The suspect couple is beleived to be using several different rental vehicle with out of state tags.

Cases have been reported in Queen Anne's County and in the Baltimore County areas.

Residents are asked to report any such attempted exchanges to the Berlin Police Department as soon as possible in order to stem these crimes.

If this post came from the Berlin Police Department, they should send their PIO back to high school to learn how to write and spell (and perhaps proofread). That's and embarrassing display of writing.
