Top Dem Cummings Says Conway Violated Ethics Rules, Despite His Own Ethics History

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D., Md.) sent aletter on Thursday to Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, asking the committee to review taking "disciplinary action" against Kellyanne Conway for violating government ethics laws.

Cummings' decision to write the letter stemmed from Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, promoting Ivanka Trump's clothing line on television. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that Conway has been "counseled on that subject, and that's it."

"This appears to be a textbook violation of government ethics laws and regulations enacted to prevent the abuse of an employee's government position," Cummings wrote in his letter. He cited federal regulations implementing a decades-old ethics law that prohibit government employees from using their public office to gain from or endorse "any product, service, or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity."

Did this happen before or after noon January 20, 2017? It makes a difference.

This Cummings idiot doesn't even know what "ethics" are.

I'm amazed at how frequently a non issue is made into a big deal. KellyAnne was wrong and was counseled (disciplined) that should be the end of it. Pointing out where others did the same thing doesn't mean she was any less wrong. They're all equally wrong and in need of "counselling".

that's the pot calling the kettle black...stone thrower lives in a glass house. Cummings has always had ethical issues so this is so laughable...

Cummings breaks every ethical rule each day when he wakes up. WORTHLESS POS!

Another prime example of why we need term limits. Cummings, John Louis, Maxine Waters, and the like have made a lifetime career of sucking from the government teat. They all should have been voted out years ago!

Guess they'll get around to it after they conclude investigation into his daughter providing unlicensed taxi service in his car with Congressional plates which permitted her to violate a variety of real laws.

Pretty sure his photo is beside the dictionary definition of Hypocrite.
