Hagerstown woman gets 90 days in sex extortion case

A woman who pleaded guilty to extorting more than $10,000 from a man by claiming to be a minor after they had a sexual encounter was sentenced Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court to 90 days in jail.

Whitney Danielle Doleman, 27, of Berner Avenue pleaded guilty to extortion with intent to slander in December 2015.

Circuit Judge Dana Moylan Wright sentenced her to five years in prison with all but 90 days suspended, according to court records.

The sentence also includes a year of supervised probation, five years of unsupervised probation and $10,255 in restitution to the victim, court records said.

On March 26, 2015, a man went to Hagerstown Police Department headquarters to complain that a police officer was extorting money from him, according to the statement of probable cause.
