This is also what happens when the dump is open. I have never understood the mentality to just throw trash out on the side of the road but have lived here all my live and people have always done it around here.

I hope nothing is on that 'puter that's important.

Most likely they're "trash" themselves.

Wicomico county must have THE most unfriendly dump policies for it's citizens. If you have anything other than recyclables and bagged kitchen garbage you have to go to the landfill and pay more and run the rusk of vehicle damage. Go to any other city and they are a lot more citizen friendly.

Talk to you leaders people , or is that just too much to do.

Think you need to check what you are saying Wicomico Country takes more items than other counties. The facts are some people just want to cheat the system and cry about everything. If you don't want to go to the country transfer centers call Chesapeake waste or bfi and pay a lot more.

I have lived in communities that have real working profitable recycling stations. Not the joke of a drop off we have. Ones with employees that are happy to help you and takes all kinds of recyclables.

So no, I do not need to check what is being said about the county. The county does squat, they do the minimum. But what do you expect from people that have never ventured outside of the village.

I cant tell you how many times I have pulled up to the dumpster and have been told, "you can not dump that here, take it to the landfill." I paid for a dump permit, now I have to cross the scales and pay, and I get fined if I burn it. If people leave it piled up in their yard they get a warning, then fined. I do not agree with dumping on the side of the road, but I wonder how many people can not afford anything else.

Recycling is a joke. If we really cared about the environment all plastic water bottles would be banned. Sadly, I'm seeing more and more dumpling on the side of the road.

It's the mentality of "let others clean up our mess".
But why are we surprised to see it?
It's the same mentality of the poultry industry, let the taxpayers clean up our mess.

If people think this is bad they should see what the back roads look like on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and there are trash stations every where at no charge. I just don't understand. What ever happen to having inmates clean our road ways?? I don't see that much anymore.

I never have any problems at the dump but I always take the dump person a cold one (soda or beer depending on who working) on a hot day and some fresh veggies from the garden. Hell, I could probably get rid of a body there.

9:29 AM, Oh I get it, if you bribe them, then you can dump anything you want. OK, I'll try that next time.

Transfer station on Waller road always looks that way due to the fact that resident on the corner pulls all trash to his house to display on the road. No different....no control.

It's no bribing, it is being nice. It seems that most of you are just miserable, unhappy with life in general and couldn't be nice to another person if your lives depended on it. You reap what you sow.

This is what happens when the county charges a fee to dispose your trash. Run by county employees and paid by County taxpayers and they charge a yearly fee on top of this? Growing up in the 60's and 70's there was no fee. It was part of your yearly taxes. It isn't just Wicomico, in Dorchester they have the same problem with people dumping old appliances in the the woods and fields.
