Police Make Attempted Murder Arrest in Shooting Caught On Video

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 24-year-old Baltimore man was arrested for attempted murder after he was caught on video trying to rob another man at gunpoint downtown and then opening fire as the victim ran away, authorities said.

City surveillance video shows the suspect pull what appears to be a gun on the victim outside a parking garage in the unit block of Custom House Avenue overnight. The suspect can then be seen chasing after the fleeing victim and firing a shot at close range, but missing the victim, according to police.

The victim can be seen falling to the ground as the suspect takes off running in the opposite direction. Miraculously, the victim rises unhurt.

About 12:50 a.m., a city watch operator reported there was an armed man wearing black clothing with a red bandana in his pocket near the corner of Custom House and Water Street, according to police. The suspect was taken into custody at the intersection of Baltimore and Gay streets.
