Could the ‘Code of Silence’ Be Changing Among Police In Baltimore?

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— The blue wall of silence, it’s the unwritten code among officers not to snitch on each other.

But could that culture be changing among police in Baltimore after some high-profile incidents?

“This code of silence has been going on as long as there’s been multiple police officers on the same organization,” said policing expert Doug Ward, with Johns Hopkins University.

In one of the rare times it’s been exposed in Baltimore, former Officer Joe Crystal found a rat on his car after telling prosecutors he witnessed fellow officers assault a suspect. He claimed he couldn’t get back up and that the commissioner at the time failed to shield him from retaliation.

Yup there was a code of silence in the Freddy Gray case. The silence was from educated people who watched the civil rights of those six officers get violated. This country has fallen way to rumor and sitcom logic. You can not get four officers to agree on where to eat lunch more or less commit murder.

You are the same people that do not see Hillary as a criminal enough said.

How were their civil rights violated? They got their day in court, their due process. And you don't think kops put their heads together and make sure their story matches each other?

I think you violated their rights when you put killary in the same comment with them.

This is not the first time Balt. cops have done wrong. But you want to believe them over DOJ? I guess you have that right, but I'll stick with the facts and not listen to kops investigate themselves and give themselves a pass.

The main problem for police is their involvement with masonry.
That is where the secrets are kept.

I think their main problems are their training, unions, lying, their integrity or lack thereof, poor screening, lack of civilian oversight committees, police dept. hopping when disciplined and not being decertified.
