Baltimore Police Sgt. Alicia White and Officer William Porter, both facing charges in the death of Freddie Gray, are suing the city's top prosecutor.
The suit against State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, sheriff's office Maj. Sam Cogen and the state claims defamation and invasion of privacy.
The Baltimore Sun obtained a copy of the suit, which claims Mosby and Cogen knowingly put forth a false statement of charges, and that statements made by Mosby at her May 1, 2015 press conference announcing the charges were also false. A petition to seal the suit was denied Wednesday, according to court records.
