Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 2-11-16

On February 8, 2016, a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Worcester Highway and Kepler Lane, Bishopville, Maryland for speeding. The operator initially identified himself with a false name. The driver’s true identity was Shaquil Juwan Turnage, age 23, of Seaford Delaware who had two active warrants in Delaware. Mr. Turnage was arrested and a search was conducted of his vehicle. Several Items of alleged controlled dangerous substances were found. Mr. Turnage was also charged with the following:

CDS Possession-Not Marijuana
CDS Possession Drug Paraphernalia
Fraud-Person Assume Identity to Avoid Prosecution
False Statement to a Police Officer
CDS Possession-Marijuana L/T 10 Grams (Civil Citation)
Driving Vehicle without License or Authorization
Fail to Display License Upon Demand
Exceeding Maximum Speed Limit

Mr. Turnage is currently being held at the Worcester County Detention Center on No Bond

On 02/08/2016 Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies made a traffic stop for speed in the area of Old Virginia Road, near Rt. 13. During the course of the traffic stop it was determined the driver Christopher Lamont Brittingham, 41 of Pocomoke City, Md. was suspected to be under the influence of Alcohol, Mr. Brittingham was and was arrested and charged DUI. He was released pending trial.

On 02/08/2016 Deputies along with the Maryland State Police responded to a report of a domestic assault located on New Quay Road. During the course of the investigation it was determined Wesley Robert Pollitt, 29 of Ocean City had allegedly assaulted his live in girlfriend. Mr. Pollitt was arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment.
