Oregon Becomes Second State To Offer Free Tuition To All Graduating High School Students

Thousands of recent high school graduates in Oregon now have the chance to attend community college without the worry of accumulating loads of debt they may never be able to pay back, as lawmakers in the state recently approved a bill to establish the second program in the country to offer students help in paying for college.

For those that live in that state that barely pass high school (and maybe shouldn't go to college), this is another welfare program leading to invalid qualifications and affirmative action hiring.

Looks like employers looking to hire someone from those states will also need to look at academic records as far back as high school to determine if they should have gone to college.....

Just another "patch" to the education system to try to teach the knowledge the students should have gained earlier. Fits right in with the historic changes of graduation from grade 8 (1900) to grade 9 to grade 10 to grade 11 and to grade 12 (1949), and the gradual increases in college credits required. It's taking a longer time to learn less. Is this the teachers' fault or the students'.

Oregon will drag us down with them. Just like all the other liberal, give me states, including Puerto Rico.

I say again, stock up on ammo, weapons and precious metals.

Get all your cash out of the banks...NOW!

Given that community college tuition is extremely low everywhere this step does not materially benefit students who choose to enroll.

Most will not graduate so the taxpayers will only be on the hook for the few courses they started.

But it's the Peoples Republic of Oregon. Just a damp version of California.

Why should an older retired citizen be footing the bill for a young person to go to college for free. All these hidden taxes (some not so hidden) have got to stop. I want Bernie Sanders in the whitehouse. He is the only person who is talking the talk and walking the walk.
