Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Child Pornography Arrest

(Pikesville, MD) Members of the Maryland State Police, Computer Crimes Section, Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) arrest Washington County individual on child pornography related charges.

The suspect is identified as Cristian Alexander Magana, 19, from Washington County, Maryland. The Washington County Warrant Task Force arrested him without incident. Magana was charged with multiple counts of distributing and possessing child pornography.


As a result of this investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Hagerstown, Maryland during May 2015. A Maryland State Police Computer Crimes investigator and Agents from the Department of Homeland Security served the warrant. Investigators identified Magana as the focus of the investigation. The search warrant resulted in seizure of digital evidence containing child pornography. As a result of the investigation and a digital forensic analysis revealed that Magana was in possession of numerous files of child pornography. On June 22, 2015 Magana was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held pending a hearing with the District Court Commissioner.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the state. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The Task Force works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force provides community awareness campaigns helping to prevent the spread of these crimes through education.
