Judge blocks 'Summer Splash' pool party at Gambrills mansion

Anne Arundel County judge on Friday signed a temporary restraining order to block the massive Summer Splash pool party planned 4th of July weekend at a Gambrills mansion.

The move comes after neighbors of the gated 6.3-acre property on Saddle Drive went to the county with complaints about loud noise, property damage, littering and other issues during events there.

The 17,500-square-foot house has been rented out for the parties, said Senior Assistant County Attorney Philip Culpepper, some of which have drawn hundreds of people from throughout the East Coast. Admission has been charged for some of the events and alcohol has been served, Culpepper said.

The restraining order, signed by Anne Arundel Circuit Court Judge Philip T. Caroom, is in effect until July 7. It names the homeowner, her son-in-law, the son-in-law's company and a Summer Splash party promoter as the defendants.
