On Maryland's News This Week, Baltimore City Delegate Cory McCray, who sponsored the bill said this measure has bi-partisan support and helps ex-offenders get back into society.
He notes much of the frustration that led to the unrest in Baltimore last month stemmed in part from people who did not feel they had a voice in their community.

There are no ex-felons, unless you have had the conviction overturned.Once a felon, always a felon!
There are felons all over the shore. They go to church, work, ride the bus, shop, walk, all around us. Why are we not protected from them and our children by having them on a list? We need to know who has these convictions. Do you want a felon mowing your lawn, doing your hair, babysitting your kid, delivering your groceries, ect?
No signature that is and has been part of the sentence. They did the crime so they have to do the time.
They have say in their neighborhoods called community involvement.
How about contribute, pay taxes, and earn voting rights. I'm missing something here I think...
Felons do vote... (for both parties).. felons do pay taxes.. felons work in the community.. attend college institutions.. etc... why dehumanize felons? are all felons the same? Are felons convicted of financial crimes the same as felony drunk driving? Oh that's right criminals don't deserve 2nd chances.. unless you perform at halftime.. or star in the latest installment of your favorite super hero movie..
I hope he doesn't sign it, all the crooks will vote Democrap all the way
