If the clerk counts the change as they give it to me (how I was taught!) I don't - but that is getting rarer these days.....

I know how much change I 'should' be getting even before the register tells the clerk.

I try to give exact change to begin with. It makes it easier and I get rid of unwanted weight in my pocket.

I only write checks because I still have a rotary phone and a TV with a dial for UHF and VHF. Oh and also so I can hold up everyone's that lives in this century from getting on with their day.

If it's more than pocket change. Most clerks don't count it back these days
so I check and have caught mistakes as many times as not.

Of course not! I went to school here so I can't count.

Hell, a dollar is almost worthless. Change, I don't even wait for.

Not always the change but the bills every time.A warning to anyone going to NYC count ALL your change EVERY time.

Bills, but not change. I just don't have time for that. Hardly use cash anymore anyway!

Yes, I am looking for wheat pennies, buffalo nickles, and silver coins.
