Family Asks Strangers to Send Cards to Terminally Ill Son to Fulfill His Birthday Wish

Bubby Everson has a short gift list for his ninth birthday. All this boy wants is mail.

It's doesn't matter what type of mail it is – the 8-year-old loves going through letters and envelopes of all kinds, Seattle Fox affiliate Q13 reports.

"He loves mail," Bubby's mom Brandi McNerney-Everson said. "Even if it's junk mail we give it to him and we say, 'Here Bubby, here's your mail.' "

So for Bubby's birthday Wednesday, his parents are trying to surprise him with hundreds of uplifting cards from all over the world. The Eversons want to make this birthday especially extraordinary for their son, because it may be his last.
