Six radical Muslims were just indicted for attempting to support the so-called “Islamic State” terrorist group. However, they weren’t in Iraq or Syria, where the organization usually operates. The extremists were in the heartland of America.
Three of the suspected terrorist sympathizers were from St. Louis, Missouri, while two others resided in Illinois. The sixth Muslim lived in New York.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, they are all charged with supplying money and military equipment to terrorist groups, including ISIS and Al Qaeda.
The radicals “used some of the money to buy supplies including U.S. military uniforms, combat boots, military surplus gear, tactical gear, range finders and rifle scopes,” stated the Post-Dispatch report.
“They, and unnamed others, then sent more than $10,000 in cash and supplies to third parties in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere,” continued the newspaper.
