JUST IN: Texas police officer who Tased 76-year-old man fired after investigation

A Victoria police officer who used a Taser on a 76-year-old man has been fired after an investigation.

We first told you about the story and the dash cam video back in December. The video shows Officer Nathanial Robinson, of the Victoria Police Department, arresting Pete Vasquez on Dec. 11 for displaying an expired inspection sticker. But in the process, Robinson suddenly throws Vasquez onto the hood of his police car, then tackles the elderly man to the ground and shoots him with a Taser gun twice.

Vasquez was taken to the hospital, where he was released after a medical evaluation.

where are the nay-Sayers who said cops don't use excessive force or brutality????

Pay close attention to this video dumb asses... It shows you how scared pussies you are even of 70 to 80 year old men...

One thing to mention though, at least he used a taser and not a gun, most POS cops will uses guns...

and where are the nut jobs praising and rooting for cops to do this to people??? where are you now???

1:43 Being an old POS doesn't give him the right to ignore an officer. He got what he deserved.

The officer has NO reason to pull this guy over! Maybe if the officer knew the law better he would still have a job. You are right.....he got what he deserved...meaning the cop got fired!

Anyone who tries to justify or defend what this hot headed punk with a badge and a gun did to that guy is beyond any reasonable thought processes.
Not only did the cop NOT KNOW the law he so energetically enforces, he had to taze a 76 year old guy. Twice.
He's pretty stupid AND has the typical aim of a cop.
Hopefully, the next time you hear from this short little wanna-be tough guy, he'll be asking if you want ketchup with your fries....

While this all sounds just, it doesn't solve the problem nor even illuminate the big picture.
This 'unfit for police service' man will just move on and go to work for some other LE organization and begin his lawlessness again. The point being, Nathanial Robinson's 'conviction' should be in a data base that ALL LE organizations MUST abide by before hiring a potential LE officer.
This is the kind of thing our GOP led Congress should be addressing not some of the BS issues they're planning.

It is a shame that the good and professional law enforcement officers are judged by what this officer did.

The DA needs to charge him. This will show that they have some integrity. Im sure he will have a civil suit against him and will lose.

He's going to need a Detective job to afford the civil monetary judgement he's going to get.

I'm with ginn here. He needs to be banned from Copdom and find a new career.

At LEAST he got fired. Trouble is, like Ginn stated, he will probably just go to another dept and get a job there.

My opinion is he is young, cocky, just aquired some 'authority' and like so many on here, thinks everyone should stop whatever they are doing and bow down. That is NOT the way it works.

The old man explained to him the license plate was exempt from having a tag but this cop would not be wrong. Even resorting to force, which was unnecessary, when he could not control a 76yo man.

Maybe he can be salvaged with more training and a dose of common sense, I don't know. But as of right now, he is a prime example of who you do NOT wearing a badge 'serving' the public.

It's also lucky the old man did not hit his head and be killed or badly injured. Over what? A cops' ignorance of the law he is charged with enforcing.

Clean up your act fellas or it will be done for you, as we have unfortunately seen start to happen nationwide.

Over one million police officers nationally on local and federal units. What about the million that go out and do the job daily. What you are doing is throwing ALL cops in one basket. This is not different then throwing all white kids or black kids in one basket. Grow up and get real. There are some brutal cops weed them out. There are some brutal people roaming our streets. It is time to stop the knee jerking and grow up.

I know for a fact those making negative comments never served in a war. You have never worn a badge. You are the minority trust me. I support the police and all soldiers that combat those who go against the law of the land. Those that do not believe in our great nation. Those men and women have a tough job. I agree get rid of the screw ups. As for putting all officers in the same sentence as this guy you are just wrong.

you must be the one with the cracked crystal ball since you 'know for a fact' what each and every other person has done in their life.

And telling people to grow up and stop knee jerking? Sorry parents your kid was just killed by a cop but grow up and no knee jerk reactions please.

What a moron you are. And no, I don't trust you. These same sworn officers are the very ones who go against the law of the land.

You speak much but say nothing.

The reason cops are lumped together and painted with the same broad brush is this --- even when a cop WITNESSES another cop beating a handcuffed suspect, pepper spraying handcuffed women, firing tear gas canisters at the heads of citizens (on film), or any number of other assorted crimes, what do they do? Walk away, lie, or HELP them!
EQUAL justice for all. If I drive the getaway car, but never get out or participate in a bank robbery, am I clean? Nope, I get 15-25 in prison.
A cop watches a crime, or participates in one, and he's not just as guilty?
The badge does not EXEMPT a cop from obeying the law.
And the guy "that knows for a fact...." is a totally delusional idiot.
