Troopers Investigate a Greenwood area Home Invasion

Greenwood, DE – Troopers are investigating a home invasion that occurred east of Greenwood early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. Sunday September 21, 2014 after a 9-1-1 call was placed from a 44 year old female stating two people had been just broke into the home she was watching for a friend. Troopers responded to the 14000 block of Owens Road where they made contact with the victim who advised she heard someone kicking the front door and breaking a window. The female then opened the door and was confronted by two subjects who pushed her to the ground and put an unknown object to the rear of her head. The suspects then rummaged through the residence before taking the 44 year old victims purse and fled the house in an unknown direction.

The two unknown suspects are described as wearing dark colored clothing with white masks. No further physical or clothing description was given. It is unknown what kind of weapon the suspects were armed with.

The 44 year old victim was uninjured during the encounter.

Due to recent accounts of violence in this area I am beginning to believe this is a very rough area.
