Once You Go Black...

Soldiers are getting new shorts and shirts to work out in, but they are not to everyone's liking.

The Army program office says it designed the new duds based on soldier feedback, although money was another factor. The uniform a simple black shirt that says "Army" and black shorts. The Army says many soldiers did not like the materials used in the old uniform and complained about shorts riding up during sit-ups and other exercises. It says soldiers were buying spandex undergarments just to cover up.

But on Twitter, some soldiers and guardsmen are complaining about the dark color, saying it will lead to overheating during hot workouts. The Army says the high-tech fabric compensates for that. The new uniform will cost about $3 less than the current one.

Let me see now , the way the military or government buys , this uniform may cost 3 dollars less , but the original price of the old uniform was $859.99 for a tee shirt and shorts. We are now saving 3 dollars so it will cost $856.99 . Bravo , what a savings!
Of course Pelosi owns the manufacturing company that supplies these.

They are also changing the camo pattern again, so to reissue uniforms to the entire Army.... they are really not saving anything at all. They will be spending millions.

Except service members have to buy those items with their own paycheck.

No one gets a free uniform in the military. About half of your first paycheck while in boot camp goes to pay for your first issues uniforms. After that if there are any new uniform changes the military member has to buy them. I was in the Navy, I never once received a free uniform.

You are exactly right; the service member has to buy the uniform. You are issued 1 PT uniform for 7 days.

Be glad they are not the old fashion light grey that showed everything from sitting on the ground, etc.
