This is the fifth move since the event's humble 1986 start in Lewes as a competition among friends who were looking at ways to use leftover Halloween pumpkins.
John Huber, association president, said the new venue may allow an expansion of the event to more than one weekend. “We are working out the logistics, but we could move the event to two weekends,” he said, adding team and association members will have the final say on any expansion of the schedule.

5:14 apparently 3:08 doesn't leave the house much and fails to understand why anyone would go to such an event.
Some of the big air cannons shoot a pumpkin almost a mile,where at dover downs will it be held?Certainly not inside the track.

You are half right. I do not understand why anyone would go to such an event at this.
But I would bet 10 pumpkins, 3 chickens, a 4x4 truck that you need a ladder to get in and a 12 pack of ice beer that you two attend every chance you get.
Am I right?
7:22, I've gone to several, and have had a fantastic time! There's a lot to see there, and a lot of true Shore innovation in the several arts of tossing a "punkin"!
