Local Governments Oppose Even Minor Speed Camera Reforms

Speed camera providers and county lobbyists block photo enforcement accuracy reform in Maryland state Senate.

The photo enforcement industry has been reeling from admissions of widespread bribery and evidence of widespread speed camera inaccuracy. In Baltimore, Maryland, 58 percent of citationsissued by one camera went to drivers who were not speeding, but lobbyists for speed camera companies and local governments have scrambled to ensure lawmakers do not attempt any major corrective action.

On Tuesday, the Maryland state Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee considered a bill that would provide minor reforms. It would require cities and counties to have a local official responsible for voiding clearly erroneous speed camera tickets. It would also require "calibration" of camera systems on a quarterly, not annual, basis. It narrows the definition of a school zone to mean only areas where kindergarten through twelfth grade students walk to school and clarifies that a "speed camera operator" includes any company that "administers or processes citations."

Warren Buffet always gets what he wants --his Trains are the roadblock to the Oil Pipeline and he owns Speed Cameras --anyone who falls for the good old guy persona marketed to America doesn't realize he is just another silver spoon son of a....Democrat Congressman
(no difference between that and what I started to call him)

There is NO bribe that our "leaders" won't take and solicit.
Of course, I'm not talking about "your guy". Oh no. He's the only clean politician in the country.

Remember folks, you are innocent till the government proves your guilt, so don't just pay the ticket, fight it. They have to prove that you drove the vehicle. Talk to a lawyer, I am right! I have not had to pay for 5 of the tickets I have gotten so far!
