A Letter To The Editor 11-13-13

Joe,

I saw a white Chevy Caviler racing down Route 50 from my rear view mirror. As it passed me I saw the car had LG tags with a Wicomico County seal on the side.

To top it off, there was a young girl driving and a very young girl in the passenger seat. I highly doubt the girls inside the car are county employees.

Poor management, Rick Pollitt's poor style of management is just to raise taxes to pay someone to haul their kid around and break the speed limit.

Did you report the car as being stolen?

They stayed at the bar too long. It's ok their government.

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Anonymous said...

isn't the speed limit 65 mph on the bypass??why are you taking pictures while driving at high speeds?? get a life put your phone down and save a life!!!!

Anonymous said...

not sure I see the point here unless there is real evidence of misuse...

The person taking the cell phone picture is breaking the law, is he not? He's also in the fast lane of traffic, while the car he's complaining about someone in the slow lane, behind another automobile, going the same speed. Who is it again, that was speeding, and breaking Maryland laws again????????? Read 'em their rights Dano.

LG.....lesbians and gays?

Unless the passenger took the picture. They could have been in the left lane to make a left turn at the next intersection also. You don't know all the facts. So while you try to belittle the person that sent in this comment you are guilty of doing the same thing.

If it wasn't a county employee driving then that is wrong. No if's and's or but's about it. If they were speeding that's wrong also. If they have a death wish then by all means she needs to put a gun to her head and pull the trigger but don't put other people in danger by speeding. We see this over and over and then when these drivers get killed their families are boo hooing expecting sympathy from others.

Well... What are the facts then. So far, I see an unsubstantiated post that is vague....with a picture taken with a cell phone in the fast lane. Get a life.

Young people are allowed to work I think. I'm old, everybody looks young to me. What's the big deal? Why are you in the left lane, the next left turn is clear past the end of the bypass. I can tell from the shadows that is was 8:30 am and they were going 57 mph trying to get around your pokey behind.

Anonymous said...

@6:00 maybe they should have provided all the "facts" then. 5:57 is correct.

That sign is at winter place park, there for the speed limit is 55, unless your a cop or in a Local Government(LG)or State government(SG). there for you can put John Q Public at risk for there own pleasure. And as far as the cell phone use how do you know the passenger did not take the photo

6:00....stop making excuses. You took a picture with a cell phone while driving. Illegal. Hipocrite. Glass houses+stones= broken glass

IThis thread has me cornfused, I left an earlier comment that didn't agree with what's his Anonymous name?, but now I've forgotten what position I took and can't seem to remember if I'm a Dem, a Pub, or a habitual Teabag?

Some of you people just don't get it!
I believe who took the picture is concerned about government waste. In this case it could be stealing , gas , time , unauthorized use.
When will you a$$hole$ see the light.
Our government needs to be tamed however and whatever it takes.
So instead of making stupid comments just think about it first.

No one in the government office cares!

You "highly doubt the girls inside the care are county employees." How do you know it for fact? You don't. Should they be speeding? No. But this entire post just screams for dramatic attention. Here's a tip, keep your hands on the wheel, your eyes on the road, and the camera in your bag. Taking a picture of them driving is (in my opinion) more dangerous than speeding.

9:54-If you knew the photographer, this incident wouldn't surprise you. It's a glass house issue if you get my drift.

4:48 has it right if it is a county vehicle there should not be someone using it for other than county employee on the job use not carting around family members.

7:23 Have you ever heard of a "passenger"? Also, it's people like you who allow the corruption locally, regionally and nationally. Betting you're sucking on the tax teat, as well. Scum

What's new. Does anyone know the number of take home cars for certain county employees who are not emergency personnel. This is the best kept secret since the Manhattan Project and yet paid for by us poor county citizens. Guarantee anybody that this number will never be truthfully released because Ricky knows it is just plain wrong to give a take home county car to any employee making over $50,000/year to use for personal transportation from home to the office and back home except for those uniformed emergency personnel on call. Why should the taxpayers subsidize their personal transportation to their county job?? Can anyone answer this????

Anonymous said...

Lol you people have nothing better to do but talk smack about each other. It could have been a councilor for abused kids or DSS responding to investigate an abuse case. Get lives people. Discuss serious issues, not nonsense. I'm sure you never speed and are a saint umong men. Fool.

Probably was A social worker transporting a child or teenager to an appointment. Get a grip. It seems like from posts i have read from yesterday that commenters left common sense home for the day. Go volunteer somewhere & make a better life! Jeeze.

Anonymous said...

There are many county employees that are on call besides uniformed emergency personnel. Would you rather the county pay mileage at 75 cents a mile? If you are on call....a take home vehicle is warranted. They do in private sector....

Wow dude, seriously, you cry about that? DSS? Life crisis? Want to bust someone,,,are you using your cell phone while driving? ASSH*LE
