Event Planned For 150th Anniversary Of The Gettysburg Address

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian James McPherson will serve as keynote speakers at Gettysburg’s Dedication Day ceremony Nov. 19.

President Barack Obama was invited to speak at the ceremony, but the White House confirmed last week that he would not attend, according to a press release issued by Katie Lawhon, spokeswoman for the Gettysburg National Military Park.

Jewell will represent the administration at the event, she said.

This year’s ceremony will commemorate the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg Address. The address was delivered at the dedication of Soldiers’ National Cemetery on Nov. 19, 1863, nearly five months after the Battle of Gettysburg.

And to commemorate the battle that turned the tide on the war to end slavery in this country, Barack Obama, the first black elected to the presidency will be, as usual, absent. Probably out golfing off and getting ready to take the first lardy on another $100 million vacation - er ah fact finding mission - to some exclusive, exotic place.

Never forget History or you will repeat it said...

Obama makes me puke...

He has no cares for our history. His vision would burn our pages and bury America's glorious past in a Maoist fashion. This lying POS has nothing, read my lips.. nothing, but contempt for this great nation and has every intention of seeing her fall in his lifetime.
He makes me puke too, 5:26PM

Fight him all the time. Maybe someone will solve this problem. We pray every day...

Suppose they gave a speech and OweBama didn't come!!

Hard to believe. In this instance let's give Thanks! for his vanity.

Anything he might do there would tarnish and lessen the celebration. Even though he claims to be inspired by Lincoln, our only other president from Illinois, he knew he couldn't withstand scrutiny side by side with our 16th president.

The elections are over, Lincoln no longer is important. All good for me, lets wait for a real president to make the next speech at this treasured battlefield.
Now if you can locate a few of the civil are solders who alive, are black, and who voted for O, he still may attend.

It would be a dishonor to the wonderful soldiers on both sides who lost their lives if obama tarnished sacred land by even being there.
