Fredericksburg Police Probe Officer's Use Of Taser

WASHINGTON - The Fredericksburg Police Department is investigating one of its own after a stun gun incident Saturday night.

"We are currently investigating an officer's use of a Taser while arresting a subject," says police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe.

Video shot by someone near the scene in downtown Fredricksburg, Va., shows the officer using a stun gun on a man for more than 40 seconds as he lay face down in the street and screamed for it to stop.

The cop needed more juice in his Taser.

Just another sadistic cop, of which there are too many.

40 SECONDS!!! Protecting and servin', baby....hold on to an exposed electric wire for 40 seconds (you can't, by the way) and tell me how much "service" was done. The "investigation"? A sham. A ruse to make the public think something will be done. LOL! And they will fall for it, too.

One of these days a cop is going to do that, and the people around him are going to take him out!

Are some law enforcement officers so egotistical they have
to Keep showing their authority when
the person is doing Nothing to Resist.

Seems more & more of this is happening
lately!! When's it going to end?!!
Remembering the handicap boy who died
because of this !

Some need it more than others.

40 seconds lol. nope not quit. The loud popping sound is one or more probes disconnected. He was barely getting anything, certainly not enough to be effective. Stun gun and Tasers are not the same thing, nor do they operate the same way. Stupid media.

better than a 9mm or 40 cal.

He was so resisting through this whole video. Nobody moved to cuff him in fear of electric shock.

9mm or 40 doesn't matter, but a .45 will knock down the cops first shot. Because shooting twice is just silly.

better to remain quiet than open mouth and remove all doubt you are a fool.

@ 6:44pm....

cool story bro. how many cops have you ever shot?

Anonymous said...

if you sheep would just learn to shut up and comply with our orders then things like this would not happen. now shut up and sit down, until you are ready to do the heavy lifting!

6:44 Incorrect. With proper shot placement, and gun will take down anything. (Not referring to police, any living creature)

.45's are for people will no skill at all.

As far as the article goes, 40 seconds wasn't long enough. Don't do dumb $hit people.

Of course, "don't do dumb sh$t"....the people who are supposedly TRAINED to control their emotions, uphold the law , and be able to NOT react violently or excessively under pressure or stress are failing to make the grade on a grand scale. Now, the very FIRST reaction is gang beatings, body slamming people to concrete, handcuffing THEN beating them, doing anal cavity and vaginal searches from a TRAFFIC stop(!!), and blasting away at the very slightest threat to their safety. But they demand your respect and admiration, and of course, instantaneous obedience and no questioning of their behavior (at the risk of above said reactions). Very similar to the mindset of the SS troops, the Gestapo, and the Stasi.

a 9mm round won't even go through a car door. A .45 round goes through it....and out the OTHER side door. And thats why, for years, the standard issue sidearm for military officers was.....the .45. One round, one dead man. And military officers are very good shots. So much for the "no skill at all" BS. Thats the kind of comment a 20 year old kid makes and thinks he sounds wise and impressively experienced in weaponry. If only he could spell or make sense in his writing...

Why don't you ever think before you comment immy? Maybe the punk needed a little extra juice. I challenge you to walk the beat dummy!

wow 9:28
I am not sure how to interpret that.
Are you are saying because you see crap all day its justified?
You chose the profession. Learn how to properly deal with it. We see this cop abuse daily. When are people going to stop justifying it?
You got tazers so that you didn't have to shoot people, but you still shoot unarmed people. You kill dogs approaching you with a wagging tail and a toy in their mouth. You inflict unnecessary medical procedures on citizen with no evidence on a traffic stop.
And your justification to Immy is that he needs to walk the beat one day?
Is law enforcement waiting for citizens to start killing cops before they clean up their act? Is that what it is going to take? Because right now they don't care what happens when its the taxpayer on the hook paying the legal claim.
Cops are comparable to the archdiocese covering up pedophiles for decades.
If you tell a lie long enough even you will start believing it.

Real police don't carry tasers!

Obama and HOLDER are already on it YO said...

Proper training, the dude will get off and sue.

I'm just stuck on 40 seconds of tasing. If it is ineffective the first 5 or 10 seconds to disable a subject to get cuffs on him, you are doing it wrong. Films I have seen disable the subject in one second.

If it takes longer than that, you are doing it wrong, and you need re-education.

All of these non lethal devices were deployed to make the general public (and criminals) happy but people like annie and immy are still whining. We need to get rid of the namby pamby devices and go back to simply using a night stick and pistol. If one doesn't work the other sure will.

I'm with 829 here. 40 seconds is nothing short of judge, jury, and punishment, and has nothing to do with an arrest, which is a police officer's only job.

Bet he wont disobey cops again who puts the red dot on him HAHAHAHAHA

Or maybe the guy's body isn't responding to the electricity. Next in line should've been deadly force.
