Woman Charged With 4th DUI Offense And Vehicular Assault In Concord Pike Crash: UPDATE

Suspect/Charges/Bond Information:
Kimberly S. Mauk-46 of Wilmington, DE (Photo attached)
4th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Vehicular Assault First Degree (2 counts)
Vehicular Assault Second Degree (2 counts)
Driving While Suspended or Revoked
Failure to Yield Right of way
Arraigned and released after posting $14,600 Cash Bond

Resume: Wilmington-The Delaware State Police have formally charged the operator in the serious crash that occurred Friday, October 18, 2013. The crash occurred at the intersection of Concord Pike (US202) and Fairfax Boulevard, Wilmington at approximately 6:49 p.m.

Defendant Kimberly S. Mauk-46 of Wilmington, DE was released from the Christiana Hospital yesterday and taken into custody by Troopers. She was charged with the above crimes and released after posting $14,600 Cash Bond.

Unbelievable - DUI should be 3 strikes and you're out.

1st offense -- a fine, alcohol rehab/classes, probation.

2nd offense -- minimum 5 years in prison

3rd offense -- life.

That would make the roads quite a bit safer. Though Brew River's business might be hurt some.
