Man Who Drove Stolen Ambulance Wrong Way On Route 50 Sentenced

CENTREVILLE — The man who led police on a chase through two counties and drove an ambulance the wrong way on U.S. Route 50 last year was sentenced July 24 to 26 months in the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center and three years of supervised probation.

Juan Marquis Williams pleaded guilty in Queen Anne’s County District Court to the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding police, according to the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Williams took an ambulance from Seaford General Hospital in Seafood, Del., the morning of Dec. 4, 2012. Motorists called 911 to report an ambulance driving recklessly on Route 404 west about 8 a.m. Troopers from both the Centreville and Easton Maryland State Police barracks pursued the ambulance onto U.S. Route 50 west.
