GUT-WRENCHING PHOTO FROM PRO-ABORTION PROTEST IN TEXAS

Thousands of pro-abortion protesters gathered at the Texas Capitol on Monday to oppose pro-life legislation being considered by the state Legislature. Some of the protesters also decided to use their children to promote abortion.

According to multiple accounts and photos of the demonstration, two young children were seen holding up a sign with a wire hanger drawn on it, accompanied by the words “no to SB5.”

My mom and dad.. way back in the day...would have me hold a sign that read "u.s. out of my uterus" in DC when people could protest with out fear..They also used a back pack (for books) to carry me around in, of course the cut out holes for my legs.. There are ,many pictures from the 70's with my sisters and brothers holding this signs..
Flash forward 30 plus years..I went through my doubts about womens rights along with the rights of ones bodies..HOWEVER.. I still agree with the sign. Perhaps I would not use my boys to hold them, but I would encourage my daughter too.
Holding a sign does not say "I want to have an abortion" but it does say "I want the freedom to choose what is best for me". I don't want some random man from Iowa to decide my daughter or sons fate, and I will march and protest to protect this personal freedom.
I can only hope that I raised my own children to think for themselves the way my parents did for me.
BTW, I am card carrying member of the republican party who happens to think the right to chose is the only way for womens rights..

I am a staunch Republican as well and believe it is a womans right to choose. It is up to us as parents to instill the values in our sons and daughters to avoid having to choose abortion as an option. In this day and time there is almost NO REASON for an unwanted pregnancy--but unfortunately Planned Parenthood has provided abortion as a means of birth control--and targets minorities and the poor. That being said--I do not like abortion but do not want to take away a womans right to choose, but I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR IT. Republicans have got to let this issue be up to the individual, just like gay marriage if they have any chance of getting elected.

Why do the rights of a woman supersede the rights of the fetus she carries? The woman made choices already. (Excluding for the moment rape) The fetus is a result of the choices she made. Yet the fetus, with no choice and no voice, is subject to the "rights" of the woman is not allowed to have that most basic of rights, the right to life.

...but you aren't raising your children to think for themselves by putting a sign in their hands. You still haven't gotten that, have you?

People who bring young children to rallies to hold political signs are trash, regardless of their views.

Yes 11:01-Comment confused me also. They would "encourage" the daughter to hold a sign but then goes on to say they hope to raise their children to think for themselves.
If that were the case and they believe in these types of protests/rallies they would take the children to both pro and anti protests.

I can imagine the conversation: "Here, Snookems, hold this sign for Mommy."
"What is it for, Mommydearest?"
"It is for a woman's right to kill her child for any reason."
"Sure, Mom, whatever you say. You know I'll always obey you!"
