Ex-New Orleans Mayor Nagin Charged With Bribery

More than a decade ago, Ray Nagin was elected mayor of New Orleans on a vow to root out corruption in a city plagued by decades of it. On Friday, the former mayor was indicted on charges he lined his pockets with bribe money, payoffs and gratuities while the chronically poor city struggled to recover from Hurricane Katrina's punishing blow.

The federal indictment alleges that city contractors paid Nagin more than $200,000 in bribes and subsidized his trips to Hawaii, Jamaica and other places in exchange for his help securing millions of dollars in work for the city.

The charges against Nagin are the product of a City Hall corruption investigation that already has resulted in guilty pleas by two former city officials and two businessmen and a prison sentence for a former city vendor.

Nagin was pretty slick. The big project builders only needed to give him money and he could move money around so that construction projects that there was no money for could take place. The possibilities were endless. Take some money from funds from highways and teachers. Nobody had a clue. I'm sure glad I don't live down south where all the corruption is.

That is exactly what Jackson, Sharpton, and all of the other libs will profess right up until his sentencing. Even then they will still use the race card to justify his illegal actions. I have witnessed this time and time again.

It is sad when people can't take accountability for their actions instead of the tired, tired, tired saga of playing race cards...it's time for change.

What!!? A politician who lies, cheats, and steals? Abuses the public trust? Spends millions to get a job that pays peanuts? Say it ain't so! They weren't "bribes". They were campaign contributions. And no one wondered how he was going to Hawaii? First Class? They knew, but they were getting paid, too. Only the serfs got taken....keep voting. With the utmost confidence that the guy YOU voted for (or wanted to win but didn't) is clean and honest. He spent 5 million of his own money so he could get a job paying peanuts so he could "change" things LOL!!!! A sterling reputation. A DOCTOR for god's sake. HE would NEVER steal. Or lie. Or cheat. Or take a million dollar "campaign contribution" and not do EXACTLY as he is told. Ok Forrest. Dream on....there is only one way --- just one -- to clean this nest of snakes out. And it AIN'T voting for some new ones....
