Resume:
Rehoboth, DE- Delaware State Police Detectives have arrested two men in connection with numerous thefts from vehicles in the Lewes and Rehoboth areas.

On Sunday October 14, 2012, a Trooper on patrol in the Rehoboth area stopped Jeffery R. Dempsey on a scooter for a traffic violation.  During the stop, Dempsey gave a false name in order to avoid being arrested for outstanding capias.  Once his identity was verified, he was placed under arrest for criminal impersonation as well as drug and drug paraphernalia charges due to illegal substances being found in his possession.  Further investigation revealed the scooter he was driving was reported stolen on October 9th from the area of F Benson Street in Rehoboth.  This area near Silver Lake had seen numerous thefts from vehicles in the last four months in which the suspects would enter unlocked cars and removed GPS systems, jewelry, credit cards, and U.S. Currency.

Detectives from Troop 4 in Georgetown began looking into the numerous thefts from vehicles and through their investigation developed Jeffery Dempsey and Jordan A. Gustafson as the primary suspects.  Dempsey, who was already incarcerated since October 14th due to the capias, was arrested on October 24th and charged with numerous counts of Felony Theft, Conspiracy, and Criminal Trespass.  He remains in SCI on $67,166.00 secured bond.  Gustafson was picked up by Troopers on October 25th and charged with numerous counts of Felony Theft, Conspiracy, and Criminal Trespass.  He was arraigned at JP3 and is currently committed to SCI on $16,627.00 secured bond
