Voters are reporting huge lines at early voting centers across the area on Saturday, the first day of early voting in the region.
WTOP has gotten widespread reports of long lines in Maryland and especially in D.C., where voters are saying it's taking two hours or more to cast a ballot.
Councilmember Muriel Bowser says the Board of Elections is facing record turnout in the District and is now moving machines around to the polling places with the longest lines.

It took us about an hour at the Civic Center last night around 5:30. Election officials told us the wait had been around 1 - 1 1/2 hours all day.
Votes are running 8 to 2 in Obama's favor.
in my opinion, stupidly our local early voting station based their number of machines on how many showed up for the primary. How shortsigted was that decision. there is a huge difference between a primary and this very important election. The wait time was 45 minutes because they only had 9 machines. since the likely hood of a power outage was looming, I chose to wait it out and vote early.
I hope the majority are white and Republican!
12:36, that's how I saw it yesterday!

I find that hard to believe, even in this state. Surely we have more than 20% of educated people in this area.
I like the idea of early voting. There have been many times when I had to rush to get to the polls because of my work schedule. This gives much more flexibility. No excuses for not voting.
