Resume:
Seaford, DE- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on Hastings Farm Road just north of Old Furnace Road near Seaford.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:19 a.m. this morning as James Serge was operating a 2004 Suzuki Verona southbound on Hastings Farm Road just north of Old Furnace Road approaching a small curve in the road. Serge later reported to troopers that two deer were standing in the roadway directly in his path so he applied his brakes and swerved to the left to avoid striking them. The vehicle then began to rotate in a counter-clockwise manner before leaving the east side of the wet roadway striking a decorative brick driveway pillar with the front bumper. The car then struck a large brick abutment and continued its rotation ejecting Serge from the vehicle. The Suzuki Verona then continued down an embankment and came to a stop after striking a large tree with the left fender.

James Serge, who was not properly restrained, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Gamson Milce, who was an unrestrained passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not ejected from the vehicle.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this crash. Hastings Farm Road in the area of Old Furnace Road was closed for approximately three and a half hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
