I try to keep it on about 74. My husband thinks he is a polar bear and wants it colder than the Arctic.

78 but right now it's 76 in the house due to an upstairs deck and shade trees that keep the sun from beating down on the house and shining in the windows.

I personally keep the office at 80 degrees with ceiling fans on. As long as the humidity is gone and I'm not sweating, why make the power companies richer. If I feel its not cool enough inside I just step out the door for 30 seconds and when I walk back in it feels like an ice box. I do the same in my apartment but I raise it to 84 degrees during the day when I'm not there.

I set the upstairs to 85. Works out that the main floor stays at about 78, walkout basement about 68. At night I turn it down to 80 upstairs. Works fine for me.

I don't know how anyone can stand the AC below 75 with shorts on. I'd be freezing.

I agree with Joe, ours is 79 - 80 just enough to get rid of humidity here in Florida. Going in and out of the house as often as we do, I hate going from a meatlocker to a sauna and it cuts down on my bill

Deep freez , I spent a goof part of my life in the desert and work outside now. And I pay my own bills , so I don't care what anybody says, I will not be unnecessary hot.

72. Even at that setting, my A/C can keep up with the weather, and not run continuously.

It helps to have a high efficiency system and good insulation in the house as well!

around 74-75. Just enough to be comfortable. I am grateful for ac. I grew up without any, not even in cars back then. It was 255 ac back then. Two windows down and 55mph. lol.

AC is great and healthful but, you shouldn't get so dependent on it that it causes you distress when you are out of it. That is unhealthful and defeats the whole purpose of ac.
