State Police Target Aggressive Panhandling

Prices Corner- Troopers launch initiative to address public concerns targeting aggressive street solicitation in various locations.

On Thursday, June 21, 2012 Troopers from Troop 6 launched an initiative to address concerns from the public about aggressive panhandling and quality of life issues. Troopers focused on several locations including the I95 Service Area, Ogletown Stanton Road and Harmony Road, First State Plaza, Stanton, and Churchmans Road.

As a result of the sweep, Troopers arrested and charged a total of four individuals with Loitering for the Purpose of Begging for Money and other related street solicitation charges. One of those arrested was also charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

Since May 2012, Troopers from Troop 6 have arrested and charged 20 individuals for Loitering for the Purpose of Begging for Money.
Troopers request the public’s assistance in curbing panhandlers and street solicitors by not providing money and by reporting incidents of solicitations.

The SPD has also been cracking down lately.The people holding signs with various hand written messages are not in their usual places.

Id say arrest these people but then us taxpayers would be paying to arrest and house these lazy asses that wont work
