USPS Spent Over $700 Million In Unauthorized Overtime

The Postal Service is losing billions of dollars a year, and said it could run out of cash in a few months. Why, then, did it spent more than $700 million on unauthorized overtime since 2010? The agency's inspector general blamed facility managers and supervisors. He said some aren't keeping tabs on time cards or filling out the appropriate paperwork. The Postal Service said it would crack down by September.

The USPS regrets to inform its IG that they were unable to complete this crackdown by September. Rest assured that we are now working overtime to wrap things up and expect everything to be completed before the next election.
