POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING BEING INVESTIGATED IN SOMERSET CO.

(PRINCESS ANNE, MD) – Maryland State Police investigators are on the scene of a police involved shooting in Somerset County that occurred at the end of a police pursuit and fatally wounded the suspect.

The deceased man is not being named until he is positively identified and family members are notified. He was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle he was in.

Preliminary information at this time is that at about 7:30 p.m. today, troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack were dispatched to check out a suspicious person or vehicle at the Manokin Manor nursing home on Rt. 13 north of Princess Anne. A Somerset County deputy sheriff arrived first and the vehicle fled.

A pursuit ensued which was joined by responding troopers. The suspect fled south and north repeatedly on Rt. 13, making several U-turns and striking at least one trooper’s patrol car during the pursuit. After running over stop sticks troopers had deployed on Rt. 13 near the Princess Anne Barrack, the vehicle drove into a ditch on northbound Rt. 13 at Revells Neck Road and came to rest.

Several police officers, including at least two troopers, approached the vehicle on foot. For reasons still under investigation, the preliminary investigation indicates shots were fired by two troopers during the approach. The driver was found to have sustained what appears to be a gunshot wound. EMS personnel were summoned and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit are on the scene conducting the investigation as per procedure in a police involved shooting. State Police Internal Affairs Unit investigators are also on the scene and conducting an investigation per procedure.

Further information will be released after the investigation has progressed.

8:34 must be a LEO advocating murder.
"Internal affairs" is a joke that stupid citizens get, kinda like the fox watching the hen house or more to the point like a child molesting stalker watching a daycare.
Wake up People!

You people are a joke. Im sure Law enforcement didnt shoot for any reason. Something tells me their lives were in danger. You fools need to first be able to withhold knowledge then take some training, put on a bad and gun and then see how "cold" things come. Wastes

All of you need to stop. I find it really hard to believe that 2 MSP Troopers would open fire for no reason. So wait until there is further information made available to pass judgement. You weren't there. You don't know. So stop speculating. You can all so your peace once ALL of the information has been put out there.

I have a feeling the police will find a gun (or two) or some drugs. Maybe both. I'm not, however, going to say that those possible items were actually there before the shooting. If ya know what I'm sayin'....

i was just goin by what the article read! the article never said that terry started shooting first! i agree with the police now! 9;57..you should be the one to do that! and 10;04..you may do! i was just goin by what the article said! but i do know now! the whole story and who it was. and i could see him goin out that way!

I totally agree with 8:34 good job one less to take care of..

But if we DO have to take care of those criminals then why not make them work it off. Hook em up with leg chains / shackels bright Lime Green shirts and let them work on our roads and fix the pot holes, cut the grass with maual push mowers like in the 1950's , INSTEAD OF LAYING AROUND ALL DAY GETTN 3 SQAURES AND A COT FOR FREE. Hey let em grow vegtable gardens inside a barbed wire fence 20 FT tall to feed some homeless people, like the poor man at Chic fil a every day , give em a sewing machine in their cell and let them sew blankets for the needy then give them a stipen to repay the jail for keeping them there or donate the stipen to the homeless groups instead of continuing to commit crimes b/c they know nothing is really gonna happen jail wise, BUT if THEY work or had some hard labor or tough jobs in jail they may not want to come back so easily since most criminals dont like to work!!
I think somewhere I read that's why they like to be criminals.

"Slaps on the wrist" by judges following the law keeps em coming coming back for more sorry to say.

hey don't get me wrong here, cause I'm not a fan or LE. And no I don't have any run ins with them either. As long as they are killing the right ones, I'm willing to give them a pass! just leave us law abiding citizens alone please!
