Video Shows Officers Beating Motorist In Diabetic Shock
Adam Greene is on his stomach as a pack of police officers pile on him, driving their knees into his back and wrenching his arms and legs. One officer knees him in the ribs; another kicks him in the face.
"Stop resisting," officers on the video yell, but Greene, his face pushed into the pavement, hasn't resisted. He doesn't even move -- maybe can't move -- because he's gone into diabetic shock caused by low blood sugar.

This is the kind of crap that Joe's page has been talking about since yesterday...I sure hope these cops were released of their duties. They think they can do whatever they want with no consequences cause they wear a uniform and carry a gun...In Alex's situation the officer said he smelled weed..If there was none found how did he smell it...??? case of misunderstanding...heck no...! case of trying to make his quota of arrests...what is this world coming too...innocent people getting hurt and the real criminals walk...
that's just sickening! so even though it is on camera, are the officers involved even held accountable, or is their abuse of power ignored like here in the Wicomico County schools?
I witnessed a simular event at the Howard Johnson Restaurant In Salisbury several years ago.A customer was slumpped over his food and it looked like he was asleep. The management called the police to have him removed. A female officer came in and roughed him up, slapped him and tried to cuff him. He was totally unresponsive. After the officer made an ugly scene for herself, a emergency vehicle was called.The restaurant cleared out as diners left their food uneaten and unpaid.We followed up on the incident and found out that the man was in a diabetic coma from low blood sugar and had not even been drinking. He was bruised but recovered and did not remember anything except coming to the restaurant and waiting for his food. The officer was a very decent person and did stop short of any serious harm to the fellow. If a customer had not suggested a diabetic situation,it is hard to tell what would have happened.
u can see the guy trying to rip his hands back into his body while the cops are trying to cuff him. duh! IF he went into a diabetic shock, it was the best thing for him. after he "stopped resisting" (because of the shock), the cops were able to do their jobs and everything was fine and calm. quit making this into something it isnt.
People of the country, get you cell phone video going we get more of them on video maybe and I mean maybe something will be done. Touching on another subject that has to do with DWB, 9 times out of 10, when I see someone pulled over its an black person.
I will shoot any officer that does this to me or my family , at any time.
I will also teach him what the special forces teaches , they will find him in many pieces in a five mile square area. He will be good food for rodents.
Question: How would these officers know the subject was having some type of diabetic episode and wasn't intoxicated on alcohol, drugs or both? The only officer I see that was excessive in his treatment of the individual was the fool that came up and started kicking him.
These "officer's" of the law are anything but! Why are guns drawn?

They even left him in cuffs when they KNEW he was gravely ill. Then were laughing about it.

All the police officers here reading and viewing the video are surely proud of the power they hold and support their fellow officers. They deserve the death penalty for actions such as this. These scumbags are the ones patrolling our streets. The very people we trust our lives too. Wow... just wow.

The problem with diabetics is that when the body goes into shock, it smells just like alcohol, becuase the body is burning sugar. I have seen many of these attacks and it appears in all ways that the person is drunk. Cops can not detect this, hell paramedics can only tell after they test the patients blood sugar. You can not train cops on medical issues and give them the equipment to test for low blood sugar. What are they to do, when a car is weaving, fails to pull over, the driver appears to be drunk and then the driver appears to refuse to comply with their orders. By the way their are drunks out there that are using the excuse that they are diabetic becuase they know its very difficult for these cops to tell the difference, without a alcohol test. The beating and kicking of this driver was too much, as I'm sure these cops thought the driver was just passively resisting, not actually fighting, just not complying with the orders. This is another new tactic being used by drunks. I'm not going to fight, but I will not do what you tell me.
Howard Johnsons? You really dusted off this bs story. They closed back in the early 80's and since you say it was a female officer, shouldnt be really hard to figure out since there are so few of them.
Well except for the kick in the face, I see no issue. You can clearly see that he is not submitting and that three of these officers are strugling to get his hands behind him. Citizens have no CLUE of police policy and procedure, nor do they have any idea what these officers go through on a daily basis. I guess if this same situation happened and the driver kept fighting and got one of the officers guns and shot the officers and a citizen, then the actions would be ok with most people. How are the officers to know that he was expieriencing a diabetic shock. There is no blue medical light on his head saying "I'm not drunk I'm Diabetic". If there truly was agregious behavior and this driver was really hurt, then they would have gotten way more money then they settled for. The driver's attorney's are not stupid, they would rather have what they got then try to get more and get nothing.
It is very hard to tell diabetic shock from acute alcoholism if you are not familiar with the disease BUT cops should be trained to know the difference.
Their breath gets all fruity and fermented,like someone else said,due to the glucose levels,they may faint or nod off, and their speech is slurred.
Everyone should try to get a Med Alert bracelet or a card in their wallet that says they are diabetic.
How do the police know he's in diabetic shock? Answer they don't. People in diabetic shock usually act drunk and noncompliant. So again the police did nothing wrong other then dealing with a resistant subject.

It appeared as if he was non-compliant. Officers don't always have the time to differentiate. The officer who kicked the guy was wrong. However, everyone else was doing what they needed to do to restrain a perceived non-compliant. Officers who hesitate get killed. Think about the next time you liberals want to keep judging the people who go out and protect and serve everyday. Not saying there aren't bad cops but people are very quick to judge situations they don't understand and have never been in.
What was the pill bottle that they put on the trunk at the end. Is it POSSIBLE that the driver was actually under the influence of something else? This video doesn't give me enough info to make a decision one way or another. It shows a driver refusing instruction, resistance, insulin, and a pill bottle. What if the driver had a gun and shot the officers. Cops aren't miind readers and they can only work with what they are presented.
You ignorant a--holes saying the cops did nothing wrong have your heads buried in the sand or up the cops a--es. Being diabetic I can tell you this poor man had no idea what was happening. When your blood sugar drops so low it also affects control of muscles and what seemed like him resisting was the mind and muscle not communicating with each other, There was absolutely no reason to pull him out of the car to start with but then for a cop to kick him in the face to boot! The settlement he and his wife received should have been 4 times higher and the officers charged with assault and given prison sentences to boot. Law enforcement has gotten way out of control everywhere and needs to be stopped ASAP.
Can't see that an almost comatose person, whether by intoxication or medical malady needs this treatment. Kill these officers and get some new ones.
