MVA Hopes To Cut Mailings, Save Money With Email

BALTIMORE -- Even if you're driving a gas guzzler, Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration has a way for you to be a little more green when renewing your vehicle registration.

The MVA said motorists can opt to receive registration renewal notices by email instead of paper mail.

This agency has been very well known to cut corners with out making policy and new rules understandable. Don't try finding a phone number to a local place because they aren't available

Delaware has been doing this for some time now. Hope you don't miss that email!
As far as Maryland, yes, they've cut a lot of corners lately. They issued furlough days and at the same time, redid all the computer numbering system with new flat screen tv's, etc.
Now, they still have the furloughs in place but they won't handle your registration renewals at the counter. You must use the kiosk (which doesn't always work) or do it online.
They also all just got fancy new printers at each terminal, but they're all still forced to take furlough days.
Now, here comes the no more mailing. What if people don't have computers or email?
Ridiculous!

Can someone tell me why there is a MVA bus that goes to Ocean City? This seems to me like a big waste of money.
