Child Support Gets Revamp

Single parents who have had to wait on delinquent child support payments should benefit from stepped-up enforcement, state Department of Human Resources officials announced today.

Secretary Ted Dallas said he is bringing in a new director to improve collection of child support payments. Joseph J. DiPrimio, the new executive director of the Child Support Enforcement Administration, said he wants to make Maryland one of the top 10 in the nation in child support collections within 18 months.

The Child Support Enforcement Administration does more damage to the family unit than good.

Yeah, watch that plan work. My ex owes me 17k and will never pay. She's worthless.

You didn't think that when you married her.

Thank you 7:58.

The government cannot give people morals, it cannot make people care about their children and contrary to popular belief it cannot give everyone a job or make them show up to work. Think long and hard about whether or not you are willing and able to raise a child on your own before procreating - child support is not a paycheck; it is a maybe, not a guarantee. It is only as good as good as the person ordered to pay it, not the government program charged with collecting and managing it.

Yea, good luck. My ex stupid refused to pay any support, doctor bills, medicine, nothing. I raised my son alone holding 3 jobs. I didn't eat, I could not afford to eat after buying him breakfast, lunch ( no free meals for him - I would not have any parts of that joke of a school plan/waste of money ) and dinner. Take him to court? Good answer... who could afford a lawyer when you can't afford food?
The good news? He now lives in a "special/super neighborhood" (most can guess where that is) - rdrousetired. How nice.
