Weapon recovered; suspects at large after chase
WASHINGTON — Authorities are investigating a report that gunshots were fired near the White House. An AK-47 assault rifle was recovered, officials said.
At least one suspect was still at large and several streets were shut down, NBC Washington reported.

Gunfire in DC and it makes the news? There is always gunfire in DC. They have the toughest gun control laws yet the criminals still manage to get the guns.

Gun laws are just knee jerk reactions to make some people feel good and make lawmakers look like they are doing something.
The only people affected by gun laws are the law abiding citizens at large.
Criminals steal guns. Criminals buy guns from other criminals. Guns laws are a waste, a joke and totally ineffective. Much like the TSA.
They have NEVER caught a terrorist. They harass, assault and abuse ordinary citizens in the name of security theater.
But I digress. Gun laws have the opposite effect of which they are intended. You un-arm the citizenry, and crime goes up. They cannot defend themselves and stop any crime they may see happen.
Who would you think the criminal targets first? The weak ones who can't defend themselves.
For some reason, the powers that be just cannot get that through their collective heads.
I will never register a weapon and let them know where to come and take it. I am therefore a criminal. OH well. But I can and will defend myself. Even against cops if necessary.
