Your New Civic Center Parking Lot Is Almost Complete

And it only cost 7 trillion dollars!

Now if we only had events scheduled and cars to be parked there.
When a business wants to build a building the planning and zoning will tell you there has to be enough parking for the size of the building. 6000 seats...if this is true why do we have to add this many parking slots. Do we have more seating than we had in the beginning? Just need to have something new.

What a waste! Really showcases the empty nasty lot where the old mall used to be:(

The new parking lot will be self explanatory when groud is broke for the new Civic Center. Now it serves the current Civic Center,so to some it may look costly and foolish. When the new Civic Center has been completed on the 90 acre old mall property everything will make perfect sense.Progress is afoot.

It's better looking than the interior of the civic center! And it looks like it will be as well lit too!

yea somemore of Pollitts bullhockey.maybe we will get an nhl hockey team. notttttttttttttt!!!!

Of course the spaces are empty...the contractor refused to allow its use until all lighting, landscaping, etc. is complete. Civic center has no authority over the property until the contractor turns it over to them as complete.

Now that there are crosswalks, does that mean that they wont have to close the road anymore? What a bunch of crap. I live in the apartments across from WIHI and it is such a inconvienence, not to mention that that is the direction that emergency responders come from.

7:52. I know what you mean. I work next door and it's a pain when the dog show is in town. We have 900 people trying to leave the building and having to all turn in one direction. The dogs can all stay in the old parking lot. Put a cross walk in and call it a day.

Pollitt is constantly whinning about the tax cap and lack of funding, why does he approve capital spending on a parking lot when we are years away from completing a new Civic Center IF the county has the monies to build a new one at all?

Why couldn't it been left as a sand parking lot? Would have been cheaper.

i sure hope the staff at the civic center does a better job maintaining the lot here than across the street. all i see going on there is looks like unattended jail staff standing around smoking cigarettes and shooting the breeze.

They should move the civic center there so they can serve alcohol.

Do you mean move the civic center all the way across the street?
How would the people find it?

Here is another fine example of your tax dollars at work. Can you imagine how much money this took to accomplish? Do you think that money would have been better served at our local schools where the funds are drying up? And this is only one of the many wasteful spendings our county has done and are continuing to do.
