Cherokee Indians: We Are Free To Oust Blacks

US government wants second-largest Indian tribe to recognize as citizens 2,800 descendants of slaves that were held by Cherokees

The nation's second-largest Indian tribe said on Tuesday that it would not be dictated to by the U.S. government over its move to banish 2,800 African Americans from its citizenship rolls.

"The Cherokee Nation will not be governed by the BIA," Joe Crittenden, the tribe's acting principal chief, said in a statement responding to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Crittenden, who leads the tribe until a new principal chief is elected, went on to complain about unnamed congressmen meddling in the tribe's self-governance.

I want to join the Indians! Finely a group of people not afraid to stand up to the Government! Just like Tonto used to say to the Lone Ranger, “I love my country, but I fear your Government”!

Long Live the Cherokee Indians.

Can't blame Cherokee Chief Crittenden. After witnessing all of the broken promises of Big Chief Obama - it makes for bad Indian relations.

HA!! So much for "sovereignity", you know, a "nation within a nation"? The US government has broken every treaty they EVER signed with the people they STOLE AN ENTIRE COUNTRY from, and now they want to have the Indians honor a treaty? Tell the governemtn to keep their paltry 31 million and just pay the Indians the hundreds on millions the BIA has stolen from them. Which ain't happening. Tell the white man to go to hell, and that you are much better aremed this time around. Come and get it.
