GOVERNOR O’MALLEY TO ANNOUNCE FUNDING FOR HARRIET TUBMAN UNDERGROUND RAILROAD VISITOR CENTER

ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 15, 2011) – TOMORROW, Governor O’Malley will announce funding for the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center.

The State of Maryland and the National Park Service have been working in collaboration with local government officials and organizations to create a State Park, Scenic Byway and a National Historical Park in honor of Harriet Tubman.

This long-awaited project of national significance is important to Cambridge residents, the Eastern Shore and all Marylanders.

This woman, at that period in America, was commiting a crime. Now as time has passed, all is forgivin? Lets also build a shrine to Jessie James, Bonnie and Clyde, D.B. Cooper.

Tom I do believe you are a racist. Had you been walking in H.T.'s shoes, would you have done the same? There were a lot of laws on the books passed by Neanderthal's, that were a crock of crap. Any human being with a soul is fully aware of this and works hard to teach others of a better way to live. Those that have never suffered the fate of racisim and discrimination, tend to throw the first stone.

Tom, I'm glad that you believe in following blindly whatever politicians say. If they say something is illegal, then you turn off your brain and agree with it.

Tubman was obeying a higher law, one recognized by our Founders. You may want to read the Declaration of Independence. In it the Founders note that we have certain inalienable rights that governments are there to protect. When government tramples on these rights, the government is behaving illegitimately.

You should disobey legislation that infringes on your natural rights. Doing this is the right thing to do, no matter what politicians may say.
