LAUREL, Md. - An ordinary day of business at a local Wal-Mart recently turned into a call for retirement benefits while channeling the The Queen of Soul.
Respect DC, a group demanding better pay for workers and help for D.C. communities, organized a flash mob inside the Laurel Wal-Mart, belting out a version of Aretha Franklin's "Respect."
The song featured re-worked lyrics and choreographed dancing, with each dancer carried a small yellow sign that looked like Wal-Mart's yellow, smiley-faced mascot.
Video of the performance has made its way to YouTube.

I've seen these 'flash mobs' at various places. Usually it's in a mall somewhere.
There has to be a better way to draw attention to your cause than this.
Wow , what the hell is wrong with people , democracy stops at the work place. Your employer can tell you what to do and how to do it , as long as it's legal and safe.

WalMart and other large corporations make plenty of money selling cheap Chinese imports and paying their workers low wages.
These people are asking for a living wage and that the associates be treated with some dignity.
They could attempt to organize I suppose, or they could attempt to shame WalMart into doing the right thing. Good for Respect DC

They all need to get a job. They have way to much time on their hands. Walmart may be hiring in the future.
