Though many still scoff, he says ‘I'm leading in every poll’ among GOP field
Donald Trump’s continued insistence that Barack Obama produce a U.S. birth certificate to prove his presidency constitutionally legitimate may be merely an annoyance to Obama — but that’s not why the White House is watching the real estate tycoon’s latest courtship with a 2012 run of his own, Trump said Tuesday.
But before he can ask the Republican party for the right to represent it in 2012, the 64-year-old host and executive producer of NBC’s “The Apprentice” must first convince a large number of skeptics that he really intends to run, and consequently open his vast real estate, gaming and media interests to close scrutiny.

I used to like The Donald, looks like he has lost his mind.
He resembles a classier version of the Charlie Sheen meltdown.
mickey mouse would be better than obamie!
Nah,
Donald has class but I do believe a pre-schooler will do a better job than no-obama...
The biggest thing that bothers me about Trump is his propensity to crow about his money and business acumen. Would THAT acumen include his TWO bankruptcy filings in which he screwed a whole lot of small businessmen and vendors out of millions? Is THAT how he plans to deal with OUR deficit? I'm worried about just who the Republicans are going to run against obama, because it ain't gonna be easy to beat him (and I'm a Republican), but Trump?? He has NO chance.
The deciding vote for the last election was the independents. If this pans out that Trump runs as an independent, he will take votes aware from Obama.
I don't think he wants the job. I think he just doesn't want Obama to stay in the job.
It bothers me that he has said he will run as an independent if he doesn't get the GOP nomination. In '08, he openly & greatly supported bo. If he runs as an independent, by splitting the vote, he assures bo a win in '12.
The man has failed miserably in his latest interviews. Why can't this country come up with any decent contenders for President? I'm exhausted over the issues already and the campaigns haven't even begun.Too much drama and absolutely NO substance.
Al, you are not necessarily correct. Not everyone tows the party line. Some registered independents (like myself) registered as such because they didnt' want to be "A Democrat" or "A Republican". Just because an independent runs, that doesn't mean they necessarily have my vote.
