Salisbury Police Department Press Release

Over the past five years, the Salisbury Police Department has averaged the following violations during the last few weeks (April 15 through May 30) of the Spring Semester:

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010,

Underage possession 14, 6, 17, 18, 24,
Of alcohol

Open container of 8, 1, 4, 10, 15,
Alcohol

TOTALS 34, 23, 52, 41, 56,

Students are reminded that the Salisbury Police Department will be focusing on these and other quality of life violations for the remainder of the school year. Students are encouraged to be “good neighbors” by not being involved in these types of incidents. Many of these violations expose students to fines and/or possible jail sentences. They also often result in court appearances that are scheduled over the summer thus inconveniencing work and summer vacation schedules. Convictions may negatively impact future job opportunities and school related internships/placements.

This information was researched and has been provided in an effort to educate the student population and to work more closely with them to establish a partnership to provide and develop a positive and safe environment.

Lawless behavior harms everyone. It appears to me that the police department is woring to be pro-active and remind would-be offenders of the consequences BEFORE they get themselves into trouble. I hope that the local high schools and colleges will echo the same message of responsibility and consequences. It would be nice not to have the problem at all.

Not to mention the Underage possession that leads to teh loud parties and disorderly conduct is a hinder to the law abiding citizens that live in the area. Would you ant the PD to just ignore the complaints and let it go so that the citizens have to put up with all the noise and littering, etc.... Get a life and let the PD do their job.

Let them rent a Farm; mandatory to go to Salisbury University. Let us locate the farm in a isolated area; real far off the road-like two miles, and they can party all they want.
We can all live more peaceful as when it is when they are living with their parents when out of town. YES, SO quiet I can feel it already. OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

Yeah, and lets put a big fence around the farm and put razor wire on top of the fence. Then we can build towers around the farm and hire people to stay up in the towers and watch the students. We should probably give the watchers a gun or two in case things get rowdy. Probably should make the students all wear the same clothes too so we can tell them apart from other citizens.
