The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point. 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world. 2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners. 3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant. 4 Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize. 5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress. 6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners. How did you do? The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies.. Awards tarnish.. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners. Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one: 1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school. 2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. 3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile. 4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special. 5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with. Easier? The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money...or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most Pass this on to those people who have either made a difference in your life, or whom you keep close in your heart, like I did. Why should they name teachers? Teachers are all money grubbing, selfish union workers who are seeking to destroy the tea party and us real 'merkins.
I hate the negative comments that come through on this site. Not all teachers are like that, ANON 12:27. Some actually help make children's lives better. And no, I am not a teacher.
I am worried that the world will end before the day after tomorrow in Australia.
That is what I'm worried about.
I agree with 2:02 ... no need for a negative comment for this post. Teachers help a lot of students! Or at least the good teachers do. & no, I am not a teacher!
12:27 is a teacher with a bit of sarcasm.
im thinking his/her comment was meant to be taken as sarcasm
The teachers of yesteryear were no as concern with a paycheck as they were with educating children that could make a difference in the future; a long cry from some of the 'teachers' of today and that is not all inclusive. There are some great teachers out there working hard to make a difference in the lives of the pupils/students they come in contact with. We also need to remember teachers can only do so much; the parents/guardian should be doing their part, not expecting the teacher to do their job.

Frankly.....I have had three teachers in my life that I can say really helped define who I am. Mrs. Burns, my second grade teacher who taught me that you can be feminine and professional, Mrs.Taylor, my seventh grade teacher, who taught me the love of reading while having an open mind to tolerate my A.D.D., and Mrs. Miller, my math teacher, for teaching me that it is okay to compete with the boys in a traditionally male field. These women helped shape me. I can only hope that my daughter who is now a teacher will have the same effect on students. Bless a teacher.
And I have had teachers who let me sleep through class and still pass.
Thats probably because they sensed you were a lost cause.
Excuse me. This e-mail was not totally about teachers. It was about people in your lives. The ones who really care. Please do not bash the teachers. I am not one, but those who kept my nose to the grindstone, and required me to learn, were the ones I respect the most. This post was more about friends who were there for you and your family when you needed it most, and when you were there for them! 12:27 you are off base with this one. Get a life 12:27 and perhaps some brains to go with it. I am a tea party guy as well.
This was not bashing teachers. It was about friends who needed you and you them. Get over your anger 12:27. And I AM A TEA PARTY GUY TOO.
