Troopers Seek Public’s Help In Locating Escapee

Suspect: Richard Wright, 23, Wilmington, DE
 
Resume:  
Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 23 year old Wilmington man after he fled from the parking lot of Troop 1 in Penny Hill early this evening.
 
The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. this evening in the parking lot of Troop 1 as Richard T. Wright, 23, was being escorted to a patrol vehicle in order to be transported to the Young Correctional Center. Wright had been detained by troopers during a car stop after he had provided them with a fictitious name. A subsequent computer check revealed that he was wanted by the New Castle County Police Department on charges of Theft and Conspiracy 3rd Degree. Young, while in handcuffs, fled from the parking lot and was last seen running across Philadelphia Pike into Bellefonte. He is described as a black male, 6’00” tall and 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey fleece jacket, a black knit cap, and black gloves. His last known address was in the 900 block of E. 27th Street, Wilmington.
