The time has arrived in America where people are now starting to sell off anything and everything to survive. I have a friend who has been traveling all over the north east looking for a vehicle because they have chosen to downsize, planning ahead.
Their experience so far has been as follows. Most of the vehicles they have looked at, (there have been many) the owners must sell. Many of them are now OFF unemployment and are selling whatever they have of value just to make the mortgage payments.
Now if it was just one or two people making these statements it would be one thing. However, it's a whole lot more than just one or two. This means that while our government claims unemployment isn't as bad as we may have thought, it couldn't be farther from the truth. The difference is, MANY are no longer qualified to receive unemployment and the deals across America are about to begin.
Smart Americans are already selling off their burdens and replacing them with slightly used items at a much lower cost. Are you that smart? Are you planning ahead? Or are you one of those people who believes your job is so secure you have nothing to worry about.
Plan ahead Folks. Things are NOT going to get better any time soon. Be smarter than they are.

Stay ahead of the curve. Sold our home that had a 30 year, 1800$ mortgage, for a home with a 15 year, 750$ mortgage. Funny thing is, the home is larger, built more recently, in a nicer area, on acreage. Saving an additional 12K a year just off of that, and paid off all our credit card debts.
On a side note, I've noticed a lot of guys having to sell off their toys(bikes, cars, trucks, boats). Just like when buying a home these days, you can drive a hard bargain because people are pretty much desperate.
I know what you're saying is true. I am downsizing too. Selling waht we have equity in and using the profit to pay off other debt. While trying to buy another vehicle using Craigs list I too have travelled a good distance. there are so many things for sale that you can be choosy on what you buy. This is causing people to take less as the market is flooded. The story I've been hearing is that same. Unemployment ran out and can't find another job. It seems like the statistics of fewer people on unemployment is really because their benefits ran out. Not because they found work. Propaganda. More and more people are selling what they have so they can pay mortages and buy food. People had better wake up! Tunisia is a stones throw from where we are.
My wife sold her unwanted and broken jewelry to pay off our credit cards. We originally took it to Robinson's but ended up selling it for $1000 more at the hotel in Seaford. John Robinson is the biggest rip off!
My unemployment just ran out and we're getting ready to sell 2 atv's. some of that money will be spent on stocking up on freeze dried food and canned goods. This sucks! We're trying as best as we can to prepare. We see whats coming. We're not the only ones either.
Well we have 2 months worth of food saved up. We have no debt but we are still scared. We are too old to be fighting for food. We have no kids. We see what's happening too and there is no way to avoid it. We'll cut back and keep putting food away until our Social Sceurity checks stop coming in. We have a couple of guns from when I use to hunt. I may have to hunt again for food. I never thought I would see this day.
