ANNAPOLIS, MD – In preparation for today’s 2011 Maryland Inaugural, please note the following announcements and logistical information. This information is for planning purposes only.
Per the Maryland Constitution, the official swearing-in of the Governor must take place in the Senate chambers, and will take place tomorrow at noon. A small gathering of invitation-only guests join in the chamber for the official swearing-in. Maryland Public Television will provide a pooled feed of these proceedings. News Directors should contact Mark Keefer at MPT, (410) 952-5448 or mkeefer@mpt.org. No formal remarks are delivered.
In addition, the Associated Press will provide pooled photographs for the Senate chamber swearing-in. No other photographers will be permitted into the Senate chambers for these proceedings. All other journalists wishing to witness the official swearing-in may do so in one of the overflow areas, where television monitors will be set up.
Parking for satellite trucks is available along North Street, which is closed to regular traffic. Satellite truck accommodations will be made on first come, first served basis.
All media wishing to have a spot on the press riser at the public swearing-in ceremony must have a one-day, inaugural press credential in hand. If you do not have this credential, contact Shaun Adamec, Press Secretary, at sadamec@gov.state.md.us immediately.

I was in Annapolis today and I have to say the security was really ramped up. State circle was completely blocked off as were some trolley stops.
